Memorial Day Observances

Monday, May 29, is Memorial Day and businesses, banks and government offices will all be closed in observance of the holiday, set aside to recognize those fighting men and women who served this country and who are no longer with us.

Nashville Observance

In Nashville, there will be a Memorial Day ceremony held at the Veterans Memorial in Nashville Memorial Park. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., and will be held outdoors except in the case of rain – when they would be held inside the Nashville American Legion Hall instead.

Cheryl Harre will be singing at the ceremony, and the guest speaker for the event will be American Legion Past Department Commander Bill Flanagan.

Richview Services

There will be a Memorial Day service held in Richview and put on by the Richview Cemetery Association and the Richview United Methodist Church. The services will be at Richview Cemetery at 10 a.m.
