Justin James Schwankhaus

Mr. Justin James Schwankhaus of Okawville departed this life from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Washington County on Monday, May 29, 2017. He had attained the age of 21 years, 1 month and 24 days.

Justin was born on April 5, 1996 in St. Louis, the son of John and Diane (nee Neer) Schwankhaus.

Justin was the owner of Push Perfect, a paintless dent removal company. He also worked with his father at JDS Auto Body in Trenton, IL. He was a graduate of Okawville High School. Justin enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, trap shooting and spending time with friends. He also spent time with his faithful companion and hunting dog, Thor. Justin excelled in trap shooting throughout his high school career and won numerous events. He is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville.

Surviving in addition to his parents, John and Diane Schwankhaus of Okawville, is a brother, Jacob of Okawville; girlfriend, Abigail Knuckles of Waterloo; grandparents, James and Mary Ann Neer of St. Libory; Stan and Jacquelyn Schwankhaus of Okawville; aunts and uncles, Rose Ann Gravatt and friend Joel Mueller of St. Louis, Stanley and his godmother Janet Brammeier of Okawville, James A. Neer of Belleville, Robert A. and Christine Tweedy of St. Libory, his godfather Todd and Rochelle Schwankhaus of Okawville; first cousins, Jordan (Joni) Schwankhaus and their children, Jace and Lavin, Mason Drury, Teren Schwankhaus, Brittany (Evan) Forgey and their children Paisley and Quinton, Brandon (Shannon) Brammeier, Ashlyn (Tony) Manita, Taylor and Briana Gravatt, Nick Mueller, Kyle Neer, Blake Luechtefeld, Kimber and Alyse Tweedy.

He was preceded in death by an uncle, Travis Luechtefeld; family friend, Hannah Mueller; great grandparents, George and Anna Koeller, Rose Hennrich and Arthur Neer, Hugo and Hulda Jacobs and Stan and Bertha Schwankhaus.

Funeral services will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Eric Wood officiating and with interment to follow at the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Okawville, on Thursday from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Friday from 8 A.M. until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Highland Pistol and Rifle Club in care of the Sam Jenny Scholarship Fund and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
