Memorial Day weekend marked the one year anniversary of the B & B Quik Mart in Oakdale.
Starting a small business in Illinois is a risky venture and many things must to go correctly for a business to succeed. B & B Quik Mart in Oakdale has worked and found their niche. From the beginning, owner B.J. Ehret, has made it a priority to meet the needs of his customers.
The mini-mart is stocked with the usual small town essentials but also offers a variety of other options. Staff learned that customers wanted quick, carryout food that was inexpensive, tasty, and home made. They offer daily lunch specials such as taco salads, chicken philly wraps, bratwurst, and mostaccioli. Home made grab and go sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches are available as well as made to order pizzas, salads, and hoagies. Like them on Facebook and see their daily specials or call 329-5787.
On Tuesday and Saturday mornings, fresh doughnuts and pastries are delivered from Berkemann’s Bakery in New Baden. Baked goods in individual serving sizes are also made on sight with the grab and go concept in mind. Brownies, decorated cookies, and pineapple upside down cakes are sometimes available.
As B&B Quik Mart enters its second year in business, it will continue to welcome customers comments. Ehret credits his great staff and the support of the community for making it a successful first year.
