“Walk With the Dogs” For Pancreatic Cancer Coming Up June 3

On Saturday, June 3 Memorial Park and the streets of Nashville will become a path of Purple Walkers and their 4-legged companions to raise awareness and funding for Pancreatic Cancer.

This will be the 12th Annual event and to date over a quarter million dollars has been raised for research.  Pancreatic Cancer still has NO early detection methods and little to no treatment options. It has the highest mortality rate of all forms of cancer and it’s 5 year survival rate is still in the single digits (9%) compared to 100% for Prostate Cancer, 80% for Breast Cancer and 60% for Colon Cancer.  So this annual fundraiser is very important to help fund research to change the course of the disease.

The event will begin at 7:30 at Memorial Park and after tributes to those lost to the disease with a balloon release, the sea of purple warriors takes to the streets. Following the Walk there is a Silent Auction and Raffle with some amazing items.  Disney World has once again donated 4 (four) Day Hopper Passes to the Park, Panera Bread has donated 2 Gift Certificates for Salads for a year, Holiday World/Splashin’ Safari donated Park tickets and so many local merchants have supported the cause with items and Gift Certificates in the Silent Auction & Raffle.

The event concludes at 10:30 with the Silent Auction ending then.

Registration is available online at or you can sign up that morning. The entry fee is $25.
