Relay For Life In Okawville June 24

The Washington County Relay for Life will be held in Okawville, IL at the Community Park on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 4:00 to 10:00 PM.

The Relay committee is still looking for more teams to add to the excitement and success of the Relay. A team can be any group, organization, school, class, family, friends, or anyone who just wants to help in the fight against cancer.

There is no minimum dollar amount needed to be considered a “team.”

To register your team, go to www.relayforlife.org/washingtoncountyil.

Donations to the Washington County Relay for Life can still be made until the end of August, 2017.

We are also looking for some talented performers to assist with our entertainment for the evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM.

If you would like to display your talent (or know of someone who would), please contact Babs Frederking at 618-559-7170 or Sharon Frederking at 618-599-2519 to register.

Over the past years, Washington County Relay for Life has raised over $1,000,000.

Last year the approximately $50,000 that was raised could provide: 150 wigs for cancer patients, 40 free weeks of lodging at the Hope Lodge in St. Louis, 6 patients enrolled in an American Cancer

Society clinical trial, costs for 50 women to attend Look Good Feel Better sessions, round trip rides to treatment for 100 cancer patients through Road to Recovery, 475 hours of toll free call access to the National Cancer Information Center at 1-800-ACS-2345.

Help us do more this year!

Contact Babs or Sharon at the Washington County Health Department for more information.
