Phyllis J. Bixby

Phyllis J. Bixby, 67, of Nashville formerly of Baldwin, passed away at 11:45 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at the White Oak Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

Phyllis was born on May 25, 1949, in Murphysboro, the daughter of Herschel and Verna (Morgan) Campbell. She married Leonard R. “Buzz” Bixby on October 21, 1978 in Sparta, and they shared 24 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 12, 2002. Phyllis was a homemaker.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children; Lisa Figura (Michael Conder), of Nashville, Illinois, Angela (Delbert) Knupp, of Jonesboro, Illinois, and Laura May (Micah) Cozean, of Red Bud, Illinois, 7 grandchildren; Amber and Trisha, Samantha, David, and Nolan, Caleb and Myranda, 5 great grandchildren; Sahelyn, Kyranie, Velae, Annalee, and Xyla. She is also survived by 2 brothers; Randall (Myrna) Campbell, and Carol Dean (Nannette) Campbell, and 1 sister; Leann (Keith) Hindman.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter; Deanna Schott, and 1 grandson; Jordan Figura.

Private funeral services will be held at the Wilson’s Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Dr. Scott Foshie officiating, and burial will follow at the Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville.
