Frank L. Kasban

Mr. Frank Leonard Kasban of Radom, departed this life at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 5:56 P.M.  He had attained the age of 83 years, 8 months and 11 days.

Frank was born on October 12, 1933 in Washington County, the son of Frank and Rose (Wachowski) Kasban.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, MaryAnn Czerniejewski on September 7, 1959 and she survives his passing.

Frank worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for many years, until his retirement in 1997. He was also a farmer and in his younger years was a Washington County Special Deputy.  Frank was very active in his community and church. He served as a Republican committeeman for over 30 years and as the treasurer for the Village of Radom. He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom and loved his church dearly.  He served as a Eucharistic minister and lector and also on the St. Michael School Board and helped with coaching. He was a proud member of the DuBois Knights of Columbus. He was remembered in his youth for his athleticism, playing baseball and basketball. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, mowing the lawn and watching all sports.

Frank loved his family beyond all measures.

Frank is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Kasban of Radom, and their four children, Cindy (Steve) Rall of Liberty, Mo., Kathy Castic of Radom, Greg (Karen) Kasban of Radom, and Steven (Robin) Kasban of Ashburn, Va.; seven grandchildren, Katie McDaniel of Overland Park, Kan., Libbey Rall of Liberty, Mo., Alexia Castic of St. Louis, Mo., Kash and Kade Kasban of Radom,  and Julia and Samuel Kasban of Ashburn, Va.; half-brother, George Novak of St. Louis, Mo.; five sisters-in-law, Josephine Novak and Bernice Novak both of St. Louis, Mo., Esther Spotanski and brother-in-law Daniel Spotanski of DuBois, Severine Czerniejewski of Ashley, and Mary Czerniejewski of Scheller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Eleanor (Jack) Hudson; three half-brothers, Eugene Kasban, Stanley Novak and Edward Novak; three half-sisters, Barbara Kaminski, Bernice Costley and Gertrude Broviak; as well as three nieces and three nephews.

Per the wishes of Frank and his family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10 A.M. with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating.

Interment of ashes will follow at the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Friday from 8:30 A.M. until the service hour.

The Rosary will be recited at the church on Friday at 9:45 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Grade School of Mt. Vernon, or the Ashley City Fire Department and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
