Threshermen Finish Summer Concert Series

Local Band The Threshermen played the last show of the 2017 Summer Concert series on Thursday evening, July 20.

During the concert, Rick Harris, president of the Washington County Arts Council, who sponsors the series, took a few minutes to say that there would be more concerts next year, and that he hoped that they would be returning to the courthouse lawn then. Harris then vowed that he would no longer be wearing Hawaiian shirts or jorts until next year’s series began.

“The jorts are gettin’ put away!” Harris told the crowd.

Harris also thanked those that made the concert series possible – all of the bands, volunteers who made the shows possible, including Bronte Lemon, Veronica Liszewski who baked cookies for the concert-goers, Live Sound Studios – the sound guys, Neil Miller, Sean Clark and Josh Curl, the Beaucoup Bottom Band for allowing the occasional use of their P.A. System, and finally, every person who attends these concerts and tells their friends about them.
