Trinity Lutheran, Hoyleton To Welcome Rev. Mark Nebel As Guest Preacher July 30

Sunday, July 30, Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, celebrates the Eighth Sunday after Pentecost and the fifth special service in observance of the 150th Anniversary of Trinity.

The congregation welcomes Reverend Mark Nebel, who previously served as Pastor of Trinity, as the guest preacher for the 9:30 AM service. Reverend Nathan Wollenberg, Trinity’s pastor, will be liturgist.

Others serving during the service will be Lori Brammeier as organist, Zachary Kasten and Garrett Alsept as acolytes, and Kurt and Jane Michael as greeters. Sunday School, High School and Adult Bible Classes will meet Sunday at 8:30am.

Rev. Mark Nebel, a native of Jefferson City, Missouri, graduated from Concordia College-River Forest, in 1985, Concordia Seminary and Washington University in St. Louis in 1989. He earned an advanced degree from the seminary in 1995. He served as Pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church in Cottage Hills, from July 1990 to October 1996. He was pastor at Trinity, Hoyleton from November 1996 to June 2007. Since then he has been the Senior Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud.

He is currently Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Saint Paul Lutheran High School in Concordia, Missouri. While in Hoyleton, he served the community as a member of the Hoyleton Volunteer Fire Department and the Hoyleton Lions Club. He also was a chairman for the Program Cabinet of Lutheran Child and Family Services out of its Mt. Vernon office.

Cindy Nebel, his wife, as an experienced Lutheran elementary school teacher, taught kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School in Centralia from January 2001 to June 2007. She currently teaches at St. John’s in Red Bud. While the family has lived in Red Bud for the last ten years and the children have been away at school for many years, they still fondly remember growing up in Hoyleton, cherish the close friends they made there, and, in many ways, see that community as being their home.
