IHSA Classifications Announced

The IHSA Classifications for the 2017-18 school year have been announced. Nashville High School will again be Class 2A in baseball, softball, boys basketball, girls basketball, and volleyball. Nashville will be Class 1A in boys and girls cross country, competitive dance, girls and boys golf, scholastic bowl, and boys and girls track. The cheerleading squad will compete in the small school division. The football classes will be determined at the end of the regular season.

In baseball and softball Class 2A runs from an enrollment of 283.01 to 569. In boys and girls basketball Class 2A runs from 268.01-554. In volleyball Class 2A includes enrollments of 234.01-514 students. Class 1A for boys and girls cross country includes any enrollments up to 707 students. The Competitive Cheerleading small school division includes any school up to 647 students. In competitive dance schools up to 1100 students compete in Class 1A. Class 1A in boys golf includes schools with an enrollment of 516 students or under, while Class 1A in girls golf includes schools with enrollments under 988. Boys and girls track will compete in Class 1A with enrollments up to 471. Scholastic Bowl will compete in Class 1A, which includes schools with 505 students or less.
