Twenhafel Reunion Held August 6
The Twenhafel Family Reunion was held August 6, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran School Activity Center in Hoyleton, with a catered meal by Gerri Schnitker at 12:30 p.m.
Larry Unverfehrt welcomed the group and led them in table prayer.
After dinner, prizes were given to those who had a colored circle under their plate; the oldest person; Alvira Redeker, 95; the youngest person; Abram Wilson, 9 months; and who came furthest which was awarded to Kathy (Twenhafel) Woodward who came from Wichita, Kan.
Larry introduced members of the Committee, Larry and Kathy Unverfehrt, Robert Twenhafel, Ray and Eunice Hausler, Kurt Brink, Ray and Janet Borrenpohl (not present), and Geraldine Twenhafel. He thanked them for all their work and desserts.
The group observed a moment of silence in memory of all those who has passed on since we met two years ago:

Families were introduced from the descendants of Gus, Louis, and William Twenhafel whose Father and Mother were Henry and Marie Eckert Twenhafel. Henry came from Bramsche, Germany when he was 19 years old and so the Twenhafel’s have been here 175 years.
Everyone was in favor of having a reunion in August 2019 at the same place. Table decorations of fresh flowers were given by Gerri Twenhafel. Pictures were taken and everyone enjoyed the day. Those attending from Illinois include:
