Kenneth L. Kania

Mr. Kenneth L. Kania of Nashville, departed this life at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 3:01 P.M. He had attained the age of 64 years and 15 days.

Ken was born on August 3, 1953 in Centralia, the son of Marion and Arlene (Lamczyk) Kania. He was united in marriage to Mary Faye Suedmeyer on November 29, 1975 in Nashville, and she survives his passing.

Ken was retired from Unverfehrt Farm Supply and was a co-owner of 2 Brothers Antiques in Nashville. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nashville. Ken served in the Army Reserves, was an NCHS Sports Boosters member, a Citizen of the Year recipient, a volunteer coach for numerous years of youth baseball and softball teams, and enjoyed attending auctions.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife Mary Kania of Nashville; three daughters, Jessica Buhse and husband Michael of St. Charles, Mo., Dana Haertling and husband Devin of Nashville, and Lindsay Thole and husband Joseph of Aviston; six grandchildren, Alex, Ethan and Madison Buhse, Tyler and Bennett Haertling and Beckham Thole; a brother, Dennis Kania of Nashville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10 A.M. with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Wednesday, from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 7:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the NCHS Sports Boosters or the Carol Renth Memorial and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
