St. Ann/TSJ Baseball Starts 3-0

The St. Ann/TSJ Baseball team has started the season 3-0 after picking up wins over St. Bruno, Pinckneyville 204, and Hoyleton/Hoffman/GP/ILS.

St. Ann/TSJ got the season started with an 11-5 win over St. Bruno. St. Ann/TSJ got out of the gate quick as they scored four runs in the top of the first to take the lead. St. Ann/TSJ would add two more runs in the fourth, and five runs in the fifth as they cruised to victory. St. Bruno would score a run in the fifth, a run in the sixth, and two runs in the seventh for their runs.

Curtis Bochantin, Owen Dunn, Kaden Linkey, and Tommy Herzog each finished with two hits and two runs scored in the win for St. Ann/TSJ. Kendall Vallett and Parter Renken each added a hit and a run scored in the win. Harrison Zgonina and Jack Kroeger each had a hit for St. Ann/TSJ.

St. Ann/TSJ was back in action on August 17 as they defeated Pinckneyville 204 12-4 in their first home contest of the year.  Again St. Ann/TSJ got on the board quick with two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the lead. Pinckneyville 204 would come back to tie the game in the top of the second, but the game would not stay tied. St. Ann/TSJ scored four more runs in the second to take control of the game. St. Ann/TSJ put the game away in the fourth as they put up another five runs. Pinckneyville would score two in the sixth, but St. Ann/TSJ tacked on another in the bottom half of the inning and cruised to a 12-4 win.

Vallett finished with three hits and two runs scored at the top of the lineup for St. Ann/TSJ. Thomas Wojtowicz finished with a hit and three runs scored. Bochantin finished with two hits and two runs in the win. Dunn also crossed the plate twice, while Linkey, Kroeger, and Herzog all finished with ahit and a run scored. Renken finished with two hits in the win.

St. Ann/TSJ kept their winning streak alive with their first shutout of the season, a 10-0 win over Hoyleton/Hoffman/GP/ILS.

St. Ann/TSJ again got off to a quick start as they rushed out to a 9-0 lead after two innings of play. In the third, St. Ann/TSJ would add another run and would cruise to a 10-0 win in five innings.

Herzog finished with a team-high three hits in the win to go along with a run scored. Vallett finished with two hits and a team-high three runs. Dunn crossed the plate twice, while Kroeger finished with two hits and a run scored. Renken finished with a hit and a run scored, while both Linkey and Miller each crossed the plate once. Devin Schill and John Blumhorst each finished with a hit in the win.
