Hornets Golf Team Moves To 9-1 In Matches

The Nashville Hornets boys golf team suffered their first loss of the season in matches this past week but bounced back to back matches to finish out the week. The Hornets are now 9-1 on the season.

The Hornets suffered their first loss of the season in a head to head match on August 28 against Centralia. Centralia finished with a score of 162, while Nashville came away with a score of 177.

The Hornets were led in the match by Jacob Maschhoff and Carson Parker, who each finished with a score of 32. Cole Herrman finished with a 46 and Kelton Harre finished with a 47.

The Hornets were able to come out on top in the JV match. Nashville finished four strokes ahead of Centralia. Gabe Kreid finished with a 41 to lead the Hornets, followed by Todd Jahnke with a 48, Pierce Paszkiewicz with a 49 and JD Schubert with a 51.

Nashville got back on the winning track with a seven stroke win over Hamilton County on August 29. Nashville finished with a 161, Hamilton County with a 168, and Harrisburg did not record a team score.

Nashville was led by Maschhoff who was the top overall finisher in the match with a 38. Terry Pelczynski finished with a 40, followed by  Parker with a 41, and Harre a 42.

The Hornets returned home on August 31 and defeated Mater Dei, Belleville West and Okawville in a four-team match. Nashville finished with a 163 to claim first place. Mater Dei was second with a 170, followed by Belleville West in third, and Okawville in fourth.

Harre finished atop the leaderboard with a 38 on the course, one stroke ahead of Payten Harre from Okawville, and both Grant Goebel and Nathan Rivera for Mater Dei.

The second finisher for Nashville was Maschhoff and Parker both tied with a 41. Pelczynski finished with a 43 for the Hornets.
