Please pray for all the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Also prayers for all the first responders, recovery workers and volunteers who are working tirelessly.

Zion Church along with churches in Illinois South Conference of United Church of Christ are working on cleanup buckets to send to the hurricane areas.

Pastor Bill Groennert attended Rev Jeffrey Schwab’s 20th Anniversary dinner at St Peter’s UCC, Okawville on Sunday.

Hunter Barnett a student at McKendree University will be the speaker at Zion on Sunday. He will speak on his mission works.

Kenny and Judy Ostendorf spent Labor Day weekend at Mt Pleasant, Iowa attending the Threshing Festival there.

Shirley Braeutigam, Joyce Klingenberg, and Darlene Ostendorf spent Labor Day weekend visiting Dennis and Shirley Haake and Ken and Alison Breiner and Blaine at Frankfort, IL. Blaine turned one year old on August 31. Frankfort is a very clean community with lots of history and lots of new construction. There were pretty flowers everywhere. On Saturday, they attended Frankfort’s Fall Festival which is known as the 5th best craft festival in the nation.

Darlene Ostendorf attended the Cemetery Walk at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hoyleton on Sunday evening. This was another event Celebrating Trinity’s 150th Anniversary year. It was a beautiful evening with lots of interesting history.
