Shoes Sought – September Works Of Mercy At St. Ann School

St. Ann Catholic School teacher Mrs. Janice Gaubatz is using her religion classes to introduce the Works of Mercy to the middle school students this year.

Middle school students (Grades 5-8) have been asked to perform Works of Mercy focusing on one per month.

In September the students are focusing on giving drink to the thirsty. To meet this need students are collecting new and gently used shoes, which are given new life and sold with the extra proceeds to provide clean water in developing countries.

The organization collecting the shoes is the Shoe Man Water Project which is located online at www.shoemanwater.org.

Instead of disposing of your old shoes, tie them together and bring them to Mrs. Gaubatz’s classroom.

They cannot accept shoes with holes in them or that are in major disrepair. Shoes also need to be submitted in pairs.

Once the shoes have all been collected they will be sent to the program leader for completion of the project.
