September 24 Zion UCC will celebrate the Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost. Scripture will be Exodus 16:2-15 and Matthew 20:1-16.

Only Matthew records this parable of God’s provision being offered according to a radically different standard. Not only does God call us to ministry, God enables us to live worthy of that calling. Pastor Bill Causer’s sermon, “Be Just Like Jesus,” will focus on the words of the scripture.

Trinity Lutheran Church is preparing for their Luther Day Dinner Theatre. The play ‘Luther Day’ will be performed in the Activity Center by area pastors and teachers. The play will be presented on October 15 and 22. Rehearsals are underway and have been for several months. A call is being made for anyone who can draw or paint. Minimal set is required; however, a helping hand is needed. If you are willing to help design/build/or paint set, please call the church office at 618-493-6226 or 618-493-7754 and advise Mrs. Michael.

The 3rd Annual Washington County BBQ Championship will be held in the Village Park on Sunday, October 22. A Vendor Fair is being held in conjunction with the event.
