QuestBridge
QuestBridge is a nonprofit that helps high-achieving, low-income students gain admission and full four-year scholarships to the nation’s best/most selective colleges.
These scholarships cover the full cost of tuition, room and board, are loan-free, and require no parental contribution.
Students should apply that are academically outstanding high school seniors and are from families earning less than $65,000/year for a family of four.
The deadline for students to apply is September 27, 2017.

Future Saluki Game Day Celebration
SIUC invites students and their families to this event that will include campus/housing tour, admissions counseling, assistance with the application, financial aid information, and an academic college fair followed by free food at the SIUC tailgate and football game.

Kaskaskia College Discover Day
Students are invited to visit KC on Monday, October 9th at 9:00 AM -1:00 PM to explore their programs, meet faculty/students, and talk to an advisor to learn what KC can do for them. Financial aid information will be available.
Parents are encouraged to attend. Lunch is provided.

Financial Aid Night
A representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) will be at NCHS on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 to share information on the financial aid process for college.
Grants, scholarships, and students loans are included as topics for discussion.
The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) will also be discussed in detail.
All senior parents are encouraged to attend.
FAFSA Completion Night – NCHS
One of the first steps of the college financial aid process is completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form.
The FAFSA enables students who qualify to receive federal/state grants, scholarships, as well as to participate in work-studies programs. NCHS will offer a free workshop to assist students and/or their parents in completing the FAFSA form.
Those attending should bring the following information (if available): student’s driver’s license, student’s social security card, 2016 federal tax records for both the student and parents, records of untaxed income, and information regarding net worth of family and student assets.
The workshop will be at NCHS on Wednesday, October 11 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
The FAFSA form can be submitted beginning October 1, 2017.
ACT Testing Dates
The next ACT test with open registration is October 28.
Registration is due by September 22.
Additional ACT testing dates for the year are December 9, February 10, April 14, June19, and July 14.
Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date.

SAT Testing Dates
The next SAT test with open registration is November 4.
Additional SAT testing dates for the year are December 2, March 10, May 5, and June 2.
