Hornet Freshmen Football Team Dominates Opponents

The Nashville Hornets Freshmen Football team has had a dominant past two games, as they have outscored Anna-Jonesboro and Greenville  90-6.

The Hornets defeated Anna-Jonesboro 50-6 on September 14. The Hornets rushed out to a 50-0 lead at halftime and cruised to victory in the second half.

Scoring for Nashville was Nick Miller with two touchdown runs. One touchdown was 30 yards, while the other was from 15 yards out. Cole Malawy threw touchdown passes to Gavin Baldwin and Jaxon Goforth in the win. Baldwin also caught two two-point conversions in the win. Malawy also found the endzone on the ground with a one yard touchdown run, and a two-point conversion. Theron Hausner also had a one yard touchdown run in the win. Luke Ehret converted on a two point conversion for the Hornets. Defensively, Miller recovered two fumbles, while Xander Pigg, Bryce Middleton, and Malawy all recovered one fumble apiece.

The Hornets were back in action as they defeated Greenville 60-0 on Thursday September 21. Ehret had two rushing touchdowns in the win, one from 49 yards out, and another that was 26 yards out. Baldwin caught two touchdowns in the win, both over 50 yards. One touchdown reception was for 53 yards, and the other 55 yards. Baldwin also scored on a two point conversion. Miller caught a 35 yard touchdown and a two point conversion in the win, while Goforth caught a 25 yard touchdown and a two-point conversion. Buzz Ritzel caugth a two point conversion, while Hausner ran for a two-point conversion. All passes were thrown by Malawy, who also scored on an eight yard touchdown run in the game.
