The September and October Project is Hoyleton Ministry

Pastor Shana Johnson, Conference Minister of Illinois South was the guest speaker at the 180th Anniversary Worship Service at St. John’s United Church of Christ Sunday morning. Members then attended a noon lunch at the Original Springs Restaurant in Okawville.

St. Salvator Lutheran Church 175th Festival Anniversary Service was held Sunday at 2pm. Rev. Dr. Herbert Mueller, the first Vice President of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, was the guest speaker. A banquet followed in the Education Building.

Pineapple juice is five times more effective than cough syrup. It also prevents cold and the flu.

Steve Droege and David Droege attended the Blues Open House on Tuesday evening to view all the updates that have been added to The Scottrade Center. They stayed to watch the away preseason game on the new “Big Scoreboard”.

Just have to mention, met up with a former classmate, Geri Stolze of East Moline, at The Original Springs Sunday. Absolutely great catching up again.

Celebrating a July Birthday in September. On Thursday and Friday last week, Ora Mae Droege, along with her husband Stanley, fulfilled a Birthday gift she received in July from her daughter, Cindy and Howard McHenry. An Original Springs 150th Anniversary Special that included a room for two, two mineral baths, wine and hors d’oeuvres. It was a great Birthday gift.

Stanley and Ora Mae Droege attended the funeral of Joseph Levy, Jr. Saturday afternoon at the Kassly Mortuary in Fairview Heights. Joe was a close friend of Howard and Cindy McHenry. Howard McHenry also attended the funeral.

Cindy McHenry was in Wisconsin to attend the Baptism of William James Herkowski, son of Chris and Jen, she is William’s godmother. Cindy was a guest at the home of Chris and Jen Herkowski, and her buddy Kate and Will, several days.

Don’t forget the Fall Fest in Nashville Friday and Saturday, September 29 and 30. Got to mention, stop by the Washington County Hospital Auxiliary crafts outside of the Thrift Store. Venedy bands plays on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

DuBois Fall Festival will be held Sunday October 1st from 11 am – 5 pm. Venedy Band plays from 3:10 – 4:40.

Venedy Town Wide Yard Sale will be on Saturday, October 7.
