Vintage Market, Kidz Korner, Live Music And Plenty More At DuBois Center Fall Festival, Sunday, October 1
Vintage and repurposed merchandise will return as DuBois Center hosts its 41st Fall Festival on Sunday, October 1st from 11am to 5pm. Musical groups such as Venedy Band and The Haneys will also highlight the day.
The event, with free admission and parking, has been a seasonal mainstay for the region with its unique blend of crafts, food, music, and activities.
Center Director Shirley Asmussen notes that “we added the Vintage Market to our Festival last year and we received really good feedback about it. Vintage, repurposed, and upcycled merchandise is certainly in demand and the idea fits perfectly with our Fall Festival atmosphere.”
Asmussen adds, “The money that the Festival generates through booth rentals, food, and ticket sales helps us to provide our year-round missions and ministries. Our facilities are well over 50 years old and the demand for resources never fades.”
In addition to the Vintage Market, traditional craft artisans will return as well, showcasing many popular exhibits and vendors – including a blacksmith demonstrating a working forge and those offering a variety of handmade items such as textiles, seasonal decorations, woodworking, and candles.
Musical acts on two stages also highlight the day – including Spirit Brass Quintet at 11am; Southern Gospel group, The Hayneys at 12:10pm; Faith Journey from St. Paul UCC in Freeburg at 1:40pm; and the crowd-favorite, Venedy Band at 3:10.
Also returning, an indoor ‘upscale resale’ shop and silent auction along with drawings for unique homemade quilts with winners announced at the end of the Festival.
Food will be available with plate lunches in Oak Lodge along with a variety of outdoor food stands – including pocket tacos, kettle corn, spiral potatoes, and lemon shake-ups.
Kidz Korner will offer a variety of crafts and activities for the children. Also available: arena horse rides, pontoon rides around DuBois Lake, and hay wagon rides to get between activities on opposite sides of the camp.
