Letter: Sheriff’s Calendar Proceeds To Go Towards New D.A.R.E. Program
This week, beginning Tuesday October 3, Mike Edwards of National Law Enforcement Press will be in Washington County putting together the Washington County Sheriff’s Office calendar. He will be visiting businesses throughout the county for a few days.
Last year was a success and I thank all who donated. This year the proceeds from the calendar will be used to fund the reformation of the Sheriff’s D.A.R.E. program.
I feel that it would be beneficial to re-introduce the D.A.R.E. program in light of recent drug activities throughout the county. I have taken an active role in localized drug prevention and education programs. Now I will take the next step and along with the newly formed Perry-Washington County Anti-Crime and Drug Task Force the D.A.R.E. program will continue to improve our community efforts.
I realize that local businesses are asked often to give. I also realize that times are not always good. No one should feel obligated. I appreciate all our local businesses.
There will be extra calendars available for the public after they are printed. Watch our Facebook page to learn when they are ready.
Respectfully,
Danny Bradac
Sheriff
