Mr. Rudolph “Rudy” A. Sever of Nashville, departed this life at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo., on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:33 P.M. He had attained the age of 79 years, 4 months and 28 days.
Rudy was born on May 7, 1938 in Granite City, the son of Steve and Clara (nee Sikorski) Sever. He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Rodenberg on August 4, 1960 at St. Augustine Church in Belleville, and she survives his passing.
Rudy was a member of the United States Marines, serving from 1956-1962. He worked as a printer and graphic designer for The Nashville News for 41 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the Jaycee’s, Centralia Moose Lodge, Bird Busters Trap Shooting Group and the National Rifle Association.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Jo Ann Sever of Nashville; a son, Craig Sever and his wife Nancy of Columbia; a granddaughter, Ellen Sever; an aunt, cousins and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-father, Edward Sterna.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Monday from 9 A.M. until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
