Rosalia F. Jurkowski, 79, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 4:00 P.M., Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Du Quoin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Rosalia had been a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill. Rosalia was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America at Todds Mill. She had been a housekeeper for thirty years and enjoyed working for some wonderful people. She enjoyed playing bingo, quilting and trying her luck on the gambling boats. She loved her family and dearly missed her husband for many years.
She was born April 24, 1938 at Nashville, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Radake) Barnowski.
She married Leonard Jurkowski on April 25, 1958 at Du Bois, IL and he preceded her in death on February 21, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters – Sharon Wilbern and Marilyn Fisher and husband Rick, all of Pinckneyville, one son – Michael Jurkowski and wife Anita of Radom, five grandchildren – Justin Jurkowski, Chelsea Jurkowski, Devin Fisher and wife Desi, Alex Fisher and Cassie Fisher, three great grandchildren – Stella Crews, Clayton Crews, and Lyle Dean Fisher, and two sisters-in-law – Clara Barnowski of Du Bois and Genevieve Barnowski of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers – Michael Barnowski, Enoch Barnowski and Phillip Barnowski, and one sister – Elizabeth Liszewski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill with Fr. Brian Barker and Fr. Bernard C. Goedde, Jr. officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill.
Friends may make memorials to Masses or St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
