Laura M. Macke

Mrs. Laura Macke of Okawville, departed this life in the Friendship Manor Health Care Center in Nashville, on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. She had attained the age of 103 years, 1 month and 6 days.

Laura was born in Okawville on September 9, 1914 the daughter of William and Carolina (nee Schilling) Obermeier. She was baptized in the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in rural Okawville and confirmed there. Laura was united in marriage to Otto Macke in the on September 19, 1953 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1974.

Mrs. Macke was a homemaker. Laura was devoted to her faith and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville.

Left to mourn her passing is her nephew, her niece; three great nieces and one great nephew; several cousins and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Obermeier and a sister, Ella Schrader.

In accordance with Laura’s wishes, cremation will be performed and interment of ashes will be in the Zion United Methodist Cemetery in Gordonville, Mo., at a later date.

There will be no local services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.
