Peter Kurowski To Preach For Final Special Service In Honor Of 150th Anniversary At Trinity Lutheran Church In Hoyleton
This Sunday, October 29, Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, celebrates Reformation Sunday and the eighth and final special service in observance of the 150th Anniversary of Trinity.
The congregation welcomes Reverend Peter Kurowski, who previously served at Trinity, as the guest preacher for the 9:30 AM Holy Communion Service.
Reverend Nathan Wollenberg, Trinity’s pastor, will be liturgist. Others serving during the service will be Kathy Unverfehrt as organist, Allison Maschhoff and Lauren Rapp as acolytes, and Kurt and Jane Michael as greeters. Trinity Students in grades K-8 will be singing during the service.
Other music during the service will be provided by the Mixed Choir, the Men’s Choir and the Chime Choir. Sunday School, High School and Adult Bible Classes will meet Sunday at 8:30am. There will be an anniversary celebration potluck in the Activity Center after the service.
Reverend Kurowski served as Trinity’s pastor from October of 1979 through July of 1984. Pastor and his wife Jan recently retired from his ministry in California, Missouri and is currently working with two congregations in South Dakota.
Other activities for the week at Trinity include the Finance Committee and Chimes Practice on Monday, both beginning at 7:00 PM. On Wednesday, the Men’s Bible Breakfast meets at 6:15 AM at Little Nashville, the School Chapel Service will be held at 8:20 AM and the Women’s Bible Study meets at 7:00 PM. A Wurstmarkt Pie/Dessert signup sheet is available at the back of the church.
Scrip Card orders can be dropped off in the school office on Mondays by 10:00 AM. Orders will then be back on Thursday afternoon. If there is a holiday on Monday, orders will be due on Tuesday and will be received on Friday.
The celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Trinity comes to a close with the October 29th activities.
History books, pictorial directories and commemorative items will be available on Sunday.
DVDs, which will include the beginning March 12 Celebration Service, sermons of each of the guest pastors, additional pictures, interviews and highlights from each of the special events during the celebration, can be ordered and will be available by December 3.
As the celebration concludes, the rich history of God’s Blessing for Trinity, Hoyleton has been highlighted as we look forward to and pray for God’s continual blessings for the future ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Hoyleton.
