Mrs. Hattie Kujawa, 96, of Radom, departed this life at 2:50 P.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville. She had attained the age of 96 years and 25 days.
Mrs. Kujawa was born October 3, 1921, in DuBois, daughter of Frank and Tillie (Smugala) Grzechowiak. She married Joseph Kujawa on May 2, 1938 in St. Charles Borromeo Church in DuBois, and he preceded her in death on August 23, 1995.
Hattie worked on the family farm and was a faithful member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards and listening to polka music. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time and sharing stories with family and friends.
Mrs. Kujawa is survived by four children, Leonard Kujawa and wife Sharon of Millstadt, Stella Pedtke and husband Clarence of Ashley, Alvina Marlow and husband Maurice of Nashville, and Joseph Kujawa and wife Mary Ann of Ashley; 14 grandchildren, Kevin Kujawa and wife Donna, Donna McKay and husband Ron, Lisa Schmitt and husband Clint, Ken Kujawa and wife Tammy, Mike Jones, Dawn Newman and husband Bill, Kelly Odum and husband Will, Tim Pedtke and wife Leslie, Michelle Doebber and husband Steve, Mike Marlow and wife Tracey, Monica Evans and husband Wade, Nick Kujawa and wife Michelle, Eric Kujawa and wife Rebecca and Jason Kujawa and wife Brianna; great grandchildren, Jacob Kujawa, Tate McKay and friend Carly McCrory, Tierney and Tyson Moore, Trent McKay and friend Caitlin Hallock, Justin and Amber Schmitt, Logan Schmitt, Chad and Jenny Kujawa, Brandi Kujawa, Heather and Jeff Wilson, Ashley Jones, Casey Odum, Connor Odum, Troy Pedtke, Cole Pedtke, Luke Pedtke, Madalyn Doebber, Andrew Doebber, Emma Doebber, Matt Marlow, Mitchell Marlow, Hunter Evans, Holden Evans, Hayden Evans, Tristan Kujawa, Miles Kujawa, Christian Kujawa, Annabelle Kujawa, Piper Kujawa, Parker Kujawa; great-great grandchildren, Adilyn Schmitt, Isabelle Schmitt, Sean Kujawa, Liam Kujawa, Ryan Kujawa, Juliane Stockton, Jayden Jones; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Grzechowiak and Theresa Kujawa; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, David Pedtke; three brothers, Andrew, Stanley and John Grzechowiak; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Oliver Nwachukwu, Ph.D, and Rev. Andrew Knopik officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Thursday from 8 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. The rosary will be recited at 10:45 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the St. Michael Elevator Fund and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
