Vernon L. Turner

Vernon L. Turner, 68, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born December 5, 1948 in Nashville, son of Ray Martin and Ann Turner.

He is survived by a special friend, Debra Jolliff of Centralia; a son: Kevin Turner of Anaconda, Montana; a daughter, Lacey Aielli of Merdian, Idaho; three grandchildren:

Vernon Turner, Jr., Kevin A. Turner, and Levi A. Turner; a sister: Norma Cantwell of Fairview Heights; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two sons: Vernon Turner, Jr. and Tracy Turner; a sister: Ruth Ann Williams, and a brother: Walter Turner.

Vernon enjoyed carpentry work and he was a perfectionist with all of his work.

Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life gathering will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Kretzer’s in Hoyleton, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for family and friends to visit.
