The NCHS fall sports season wrapped up this past week at the IHSA Class 1A State Cross Country Meet, held at Detweiller Park in Peoria.
All of the runners battled tough conditions as rain made the course muddy and slick. The NCHS Girls Cross Country team, as well as Brandon Schnitker competed at the event.
The girls team brought home 19th place as a team, while Schnitker finished 19th overall in the boys race.
In the girls race, 208 runners competed in the race. The individual state champion was Emma Argo from Eureka. Tolono (Unity) won the team title with a score of 108.
