The St. Ann girls basketball team split their two games this past week as they fell to Opdyke/BelleRive before bouncing back to defeat Ashley.
On November 6, the Lady Saints traveled to take on Opdyke/BelleRive. Opdyke/BelleRive was just too much for the Lady Saints as St. Ann fell by a score of 41-24.
St. Ann struggled in the first half, with nine points total before halftime. In the second half, the Lady Saints scored more but it wasn’t enough as they took the loss.
Colleen Jahnke led the way with eight points for St. Ann, followed by Reese Varel and Ruby Konkel who each scored six points. Talanie Kozuszek and Tailer Pelczynski each scored two points in the loss.
The Saints bounced back with a 43-10 win over Ashley on November 8. St. Ann came out quick with 12 points in the first and eight points in the second. St. Ann would then put the game away with 17 points in the third. In the fourth, the Saints would cruise to the win.
Jahnke led the way with 19 points followed by Kozuszek with 10 points. Pelczynski scored six points, while both Konkel and Varel added four points to round out the scoring.
