Girls Golf All-South Announced

Four members of the Nashville Hornettes girls golf team were named All-South this past week. The Hornettes girls golf team had a great season, which was capped off with a third place finish in the IHSA Class 1A State Tournament. The Hornettes also won their Regional as well as  the Southern Illinois River to River Mississippi Division Championship. Seniors Hope Rueter, Brooke Bartling, Jordan Stiegman, and Rachael Kell were all named SICA Class 1A All-South.

Rueter was named to the All-South team for the third consecutive year. Rueter was a key member of the Hornettes golf team this year.  Rueter finished fourth overall at this year’s conference tournament.

Kell was named to the All-South team for the second consecutive year. Kell finished out her career at NCHS with All-Conference honors. Kell finished tied for fifth at the SIRR Mississippi Division Conference Tournament, held on September 19. Kell signed to play golf in college at Maryville University.

Bartling was also named All-South for the second consecutive season. Bartling also was named All-Conference this season, and finished out the year, with a score of 79 on her final 18 holes at the State Tournament. The 79 at the State Tournament included pars on the final 10 holes.

For the second consecutive year, Stiegman was also named All-South. Stiegman was named All-Conference this season, with a seventh place finish at the Conference Tournament. Stiegman led the Hornettes on the first day of the State Tournament with a score of 80, and was a key part of the team’s third place finish in Class 1A.
