The Hoyleton Lions’ meeting was called to order Tuesday, November 28 by President Tim Schnitker.

Members expressed a moment of silence in tribute to Lloyd Spenner, a longtime, faithful member of the Club.

Marvin Haake recalled sponsoring Lloyd and Butch Spenner thanked the Club for the floral tribute honoring his brother.

Discussion was held on the possibility of once again holding the consignment auction.

Dues are payable for 2018 beginning in January.  Anyone wishing to join the Lions is welcome – – we are a civic service organization providing assistance to those with sight and sound needs.

The next meeting will be held January 23, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Red Room of the Hoyleton Community Club.

The Washington County Historical Society is sponsoring, compiling, and publishing a new book:  “Washington County, Illinois History & Families – Bicentennial Edition.”
