St. Ann Defeats St. Libory

The St. Ann girls basketball team picked up a huge win this past week as they defeated St. Libory 61-26 on December 6. St. Ann scored early and often on their way to a dominating win.

The Lady Saints got a big boost in the first quarter, as Hazel Konkel scored 10 points helping St. Ann jump out to an 18-5 lead after one quarter of play. St. Ann continued the onslaught in the second quarter as they outscored St. Libory 17-6, 11 of the points coming from Talanie Kozuszek. After the break it was more of the same, as St. Ann outscored St. Libory 16-6 to take a 51-17 lead into the final stanza. In the fourth, St. Ann was in cruise control as they grabbed the 35 point win.

Hazel Konkel led St. Ann with 20 points in the win. Kozuszek was not far behind with 17 points, followed by Ruby Konkel and Reese Varel with six points apiece. Ally Johannes, Colleen Jahnke, and Emma Van Hise all scored four points in the win.
