Hornettes Volleyball Team Hands Out End Of Season Awards

The Nashville Hornettes Volleyball team has handed out their team awards for the 2017 season. The Hornettes finished the season with a 19-14 record. The Hornettes season ended with a loss to Wesclin in the IHSA Class 2A Dupo Regional Semi-Final.

Paige Kasten, Sydney Brinkmann, Vanessa Wyciskalla, Delaney Varel, and Abby Wesselmann all received individual awards.

Kasten was named the team MVP for the 2017 season. Kasten led the team with 564 assists, 38 aces, and was third on the team with 28 blocks. Kasten was fourth on the team with 143 digs this past season.

Wesselmann was named the Defensive MVP. Wesselman led the team with 362 digs as the Libero for the Hornettes this past season.

Sydney Brinkmann was given the Hornette Award. Brinkmann was third on the team with 201 digs this past season. Brinkmann also finished with 10 aces.

Vanessa Wyciskalla received the serving award. Wyciskalla finished with nine aces this past season. 92.2% of Wyciskalla only had eight service errors on the season.

Delaney Varel was named Most-Improved Player. Varel notched 14 kills and nine blocks at the varsity level this season.
