Mr. Edgar L. Ibendahl of Nashville, departed this life at the Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:35 AM. He had attained the age of 85 years, 7 months and 16 days.
Edgar was born on May 20, 1932 at Pilot Knob Township, Washington County, the son of Arthur and Lena (Brammeier) Ibendahl. He was united in marriage to Sue Elston on November 26, 1961 in Makanda Township and she survives his passing.
Edgar was a member of the United States Army and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nashville and the Washington County Farm Bureau, where he served a term as director. He was a past member of the Pilot Knob Cemetery Board and the Washington County Zoning Board. Edgar enjoyed everything about farming, including giving his grandchildren rides on the tractors and combine.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Sue Ibendahl of Nashville; three sons, Gregg Ibendahl and wife Kathy of Manhattan, Kan., Doug Ibendahl and wife Cathy of Chicago, and Stephen Ibendahl and wife Elise of St. Louis; six grandchildren, Irina, Ethan, Issaac, Keaton, Chapin and Regan Ibendahl; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Paul and Calvin Ibendahl.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 10 A.M. with Pastor Scott Sharp officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday in the Pilot Knob Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Tuesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 7:30 A.M. until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Pilot Knob Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
