Carl D. Lutz, Sr.

Carl D. Lutz, Sr., 92, of Hoffman, formerly of Sandoval, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
He was born December 12, 1925 the son of Fred and Sidney (Peddicord) Lutz. He married Emma Cook and they later divorced. On July 8, 1972, at the 1st Baptist Church in Nashville, he married Jewell Hildebrand.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Jewell Lutz of Hoffman; devoted children Carlotte Deann Hoffmann of Salem, Carlos Dee Lutz, wife Sherri, and Carl Dean Lutz, Jr., wife Linda; step-daughter Carol Gajewski; daughter-in-law Sue Lutz; treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son George Lutz, brother Francis Lutz, and a great-grandson.
Carl was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Nashville. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with St. Mary’s Hospital for 28 years, in the maintenance department. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval with Rev. Scott Sharp officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Paul UCC Cemetery in Nashville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoffman Fire Department or the 1st Baptist Church of Nashville.
Friends and relatives are invited to visiting hours from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2017 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval.
