Membership Drive, Wings Coming Up In February At Community Center Of Nashville

By Alex Haglund

The Community Center of Nashville (CCN) is moving forward with their plans to offer memberships to the community in order to help support the Center financially.
On Saturday, February 17, CCN will be holding their first membership drive, in the CCN Cafeteria, from 6 to 10 p.m.
There will be snacks and appetizers at the event, and beer and soft drinks will be available for sale there as well.
There are three types of individual memberships being sold – a core membership is $100, which includes a free order of “big game” wings, tickets to the chicken and dumpling dinner, the homecoming event and the beer and wine tasting.
A VIP membership is $250 and includes more event tickets and a discount off of room rentals.
Finally, a Platinum membership is $500 and includes more event tickets and more room rental discounts.
“This event is going to be something like our wine tasting will be,” said CCN Board member Randy Rueter, “it will be a good time.”
Rueter also stated that CCN will be offering corporate memberships, with those sponsorship levels at $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 annually.
“In addition to the monthly budget shortfall (about $3,500), Rueter said, “ CCN also has an air conditioning project coming up that will need to be done this spring or summer, which will cost about $13,000.”
Happening before the membership drive though, CCN also has an annual chicken wing fundraiser, which will be held on Sunday, February 4, just before the Super Bowl airs.

Community Center Board members prepare wings before the 2017 Super Bowl. CCN wings will be available for preorder and game day sales again this year.

Wings will be prepared fresh at the community center that day. The cost is $8 in advance or $10 at the door for 10 wings. The wings can be naked or breaded and are available in plain, hot, lemon pepper or barbecue flavors.
Any CCN Board member has preorder forms for the wings, and those interested can also call Jennifer at the Community Center to order.
The CCN is a non-profit, non-taxing entitity and relies on memberships and donations for support.
