City Of Nashville Issues School Choice Week Proclamation

The Nashville City Council held a very brief meeting on the evening of Thursday, January 18, their second regular meeting of the month, and of 2018.
The Council had several members absent for the meeting, including Mayor Erik Rolf.
A proclamation was issued by the city which proclaimed the week of January 21 through 27 as Nashville School Choice Week.
The proclamation praises the variety of educational options available in Nashville and coordinates with school choice week in the country as a whole.
A new part time police officer, Jonathon Stambaugh, was hired by the Nashville Police Department.
The city’s Motor Fuel Tax resolution was on the agenda before the meeting. Action was not taken on the item at this point, the resolution will be presented to the council at the first February meeting, on Thursday, February 1.
The council also approved the payment of bills and the treasurer’s report for December, 2017.
