Mrs. Joann H. Ferguson of Radom, departed this life at the Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 3:20 PM. She had attained the age of 79 years and 23 days.
Mrs. Ferguson was born on January 4, 1939 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of John and Theresa (Skurat) Kwiatkowski. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Ferguson on September 1, 1960 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1996.
Joann worked at the Candy Factory in Ashley, and at MCA Records in Pinckneyville, for many years She later worked in the kitchen at the Lantern Pub in Ashley. Joann was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Radom, where she was involved with the St. Michael’s Mother Club. She enjoyed going to Tunica, Miss., and working with her flowers.
Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters, Deborah Colgrave of Ashley, and Michelle Ferguson of Radom; two sisters, Ruth Simmons of Ashley, and Una Bauza of Nashville; three grandchildren, Brandon Colgrave, Ashlee Colgrave and Amber Williams; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Larry Kwiatkowski; a sister, LaVerne Zgonina and a niece Charlotte Marchello.
Per the wishes of Joann and her family, cremation was performed and a Memorial Mass will be held at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11 AM, with Fr. John Iffert officiating. Burial of ashes will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, on Friday from 9 AM until the service hour.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church or St. Michael Catholic Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
