Robert “Rob” L. Metcalf

Mr. Robert “Rob” L. Metcalf of Woodlawn, departed this life at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 8:59 AM. He had attained the age of 53 years and 11 days.
Mr. Metcalf was born on January 20, 1965 at Sparta, the son of Ronald C. and Shirley (nee Lebo) Meltcalf. He was united in marriage to Diane Rynski on July 11, 1992 at the Long Prairie Baptist Church in Waltonville, and she survives his passing.
Robert was a member of the United States Army, serving in the Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He worked as an operator for the Illinois Department of Transportation for many years. Robert loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Diane Metcalf of Woodlawn; three children, Christopher (Chelsea) Wilson of Mt. Vernon, Cole Metcalf and Joey Metcalf of Woodlawn; his mother, Shirley Metcalf of Kennett, Mo.; two brothers, Ronnie Metcalf, Jr. (Tawana) of Woodlawn and Richie Metcalf of Nashville; a sister, Rhonda Jamison (Roger) of St. Louis, Mo.; seventeen nieces and nephews, Trey, Andrew, Alyssa, Peyton, Jullian, Dawson, Josh, Matt, Brittany, Ryleigh, Haleigh, Nichole, Nicholas, Race, River, Rain, and Jessica; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 1 PM. Interment will follow in the Brick Cemetery in rural Ashley.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Saturday from 10 AM until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital or the Wounded Warriors Project and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
