The Nashville Optimist Club is holding an essay contest and the deadline for entries is coming up very soon.
The essay contest is open to students under the age of 18 as of October 1, 2017, who attend schools in Nashville, IL, and requires the student write a 700 – 800 word essay based on the theme: “Can Society Function Without Respect?” 
Cash prizes will be awarded at the Club Level, and the winning entry will be entered into the District Level competition.
Essay entries are due to Mrs. Sara Kollbaum at Nashville High School by the close of school on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
