BCMW Seeking Applicants For Scholarships

The BCMW Community Services Block Grant Program will be awarding five $1,000 scholarships to low-income residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion, and Washington Counties.
This program is funded by the Illinois Department of Corrections and Economic Opportunity.
The scholarships are open to low-income residents desiring to further their education during the 2018-19 school year at an Illinois accredited two-year college, vocational school, or four-year college or university.
All applicants must be permanent residents of Bond, Clinton, Marion, or Washington Counties. Award recipiens may use the scholarship award for education expenses, and payments will be sent directly to the school.
Eligibility criteria will be based on income, grade point average, a 100-200 word career goals statement, three letters of recommendation, and an interview with the scholarship committee.
Income guidelines, which are based on 125% of federal poverty and number in household, are as follows: 1-$15,175; 2-$20,575; 3-$25,975; 4- $31,375; 5-$36,775; 6-$42,175; 7- $47,575; 8-$52,975.
Applications may be picked up at BCMW, 909 E. Rexford in Centralia or at the BCMW outreach office in the county in which you reside.
