The Queen of Hearts rolls over into its 5th week and the crowd is growing. The Hoyleton Community Club is sponsoring the Luck Lady drawing and tickets are for sale throughout the week at Kretzer’s Bar and Grill. The drawing is on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The game of chance is popular throughout the County.
The Hoyleton Community Club expresses their appreciation to everyone who attended their successful Fried & Smoked Chicken Dinner at the building this past Sunday. We are grateful to our workers and the delicious desserts so graciously donated. Thank you!
Trinity Lutheran will feature Pastor James MIller (Trinity, Nashville) as the rotating pastor for the 2018 Lenten Midweek Series: “Return from Exile: A Lenten Journey.” The service begins this evening, Wednesday, at 7 p.m. Pastor Miller will focus on “Garden to Garden: Eden to Heaven.” The series will continue on March 7 and March 21.
March 4, the Third Sunday in Lent, Zion UCC will celebrate Holy Communion at the 10:00 am. Worship Service. Pastor Bill will continue the Sacred Stories study based on Scriptures from Psalm 78: 1-2; Mark 4:34 and Mark 2:1-13. These stories are written that you may believe “That Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God…” – John 20-31. These stories are the Gospel which comes from the old English word “Godspell”, meaning “Good Tale”.
Jesus was a parable teller for God. He died as a parable tell for God and arose as the Parable of God. Minette Cramer is the pianist. Children’s Sunday School begins at 9:00 am. During the Liturgical Season of Lent, the church dresses in purple, the color of royalty. During Lent, we are purpose people, people who love and worship Jesus Christ, God’s Son, our royal sovereign.
ALL ARE WELCOME AT ZION EVANGELICAL UCC.
