IBCA Girls Basketball All-State Teams Announced

The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association announced their 2018 All-State Teams for Class 1A and Class 2A. Two Nashville Hornettes were named, and two Okawville Lady Rockets were also named.
Nashville Hornettes senior Karly Stanowski was named to the IBCA All-State third team. Stanowski rewrote the record books this season. Stanowski grabbed 280 rebounds this season which put her career numbers at 1,029. Stanowski is the only player in Hornettes history with over 1000 career rebounds. Stanowski scored 441 points this season, and scored her 1000th career point against DuQuoin in January. Stanowski finished her career with 1,219 points, which is fifth all time in Hornettes history. Stanowski also made 114 free throws this season to help break the career free throw record at NCHS. Stanowski finished with 386 career free throws made.
Hornettes senior Paige Kasten was named Special Mention on the IBCA All-State team. Kasten finished her career on the court as the most prolific three point shooter in Hornettes history.  Kasten made 71 three point baskets this season, adding to the career record she broke last season. Kasten finished her career with 251 made three point field goals. Kasten also joined the 1000 point club this season in a game against Carterville. Kasten finished with 1,055 career points.
Two Okawville Lady Rockets were named Special Mention on the IBCA All-State team. Seniors Madelyn Tepe and Audrey Jansen each represented Okawville. The Lady Rockets won the IHSA Class 1A Okawville Regional Championship. The Lady Rockets season ended in the Sectional Final with a loss to Lebanon. Lebanon would go on to win third place in IHSA Class 1A.
