Jr. Hornettes Split Two Matches

The Nashville Middle School Jr. Hornettes volleyball team moved their record to 5-8 at the varsity level this past week as they split their two matchups this past week. Nashville fell to DuQuoin on February 20, but bounced back to defeat Chester on February 22.
Nashville’s first matchup of the week was up against DuQuoin on February 22. The Jr. Hornettes fought hard but were defeated in two straight games. Nashville dropped the first game 25-20 before dropping game two 25-16.
Addison Povolish led the way with four kills in the loss. Emme Paszkiewicz finished with three kills, while Jordan Donato finished with two aces and one kill. Daci Finke notched a kill and an ace in the loss. Daphne Kollbaum and Hailey Baugh each finished with one kill for the Jr. Hornettes.
The JV team defeated DuQuoin in three games. Nashville won the first game 25-21, dropped the second game 26-24, and won the third game 15-9.
The Jr. Hornettes were back in action on February 22 as they defeated Chester 25-23, 25-16 in two straight games.
Paszkiewicz finished with two aces and five kills to lead the way in the win. Kollbaum finished with one ace to go along with three kills, while Emma Eberhart notched three kills in the win. Donato finished with one ace and two kills, and Finke finished with two kills for Nashville.
The JV team defeated Chester in three games. Nashville took game one 25-8, but dropped game two 25-22. In the third and deciding game, Nashville took the win 15-6.
The JV record is currently 5-3.
