Delores A. Schwartzkopf, age 85, of Nashville, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 1:35 p.m. in Odin HealthCare Center, Odin.
Delores was born on July 30, 1932 in Pinckneyville, a daughter to Luther and Pearl (Rigdon) Armstrong. In 1951, she married Mervin D. Schwartzkopf in Perry County, and he survives. She attended the First Freewill Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon. Delores had worked as a beautician for 30 years. She enjoyed sewing and gardening, especially her roses and loved ministering to her kids and playing with her grandkids.
Survivors include her husband of over 66 years, Mervin Schwartzkopf of Nashville; a son, Edward (Patti) Schwartzkopf, Sr. of Nashville; three daughters, Karla Crane of Odin, Tammy Schwartzkopf of Coulterville, and Patty Schwartzkopf of Mt. Vernon; a brother, William (Lindy) Armstrong of DuQuoin; two sisters, Barbara (Stanley) Valier of DuQuoin, and Kay Miller of Springfield; four grandchildren, Jeremy (Amanda) Ogrzewalla, Edward (Casey) Schwartzkopf, Jr., Jacob Crane and Amber Schwartzkopf (fiancé, Tillman Temple); and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Ogrzewalla and Shawn Schwartzkopf.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Pastor David Shores officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and then again on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
