Lamplighters Learn About Sleep Apnea

Sharon Frederking speaking about sleep apnea at the meeting of the Lamplighters HCE

Sharon Frederking from the Washington County Health Department gave an informative and interesting lesson on Sleep Apnea at the February meeting of Lamplighters HCE at the home of Shirley Hagene.
Shirley showed members her CPAP machine and told them how she used it. Adults should get 7 or more hours of sleep each night.
Not getting enough sleep could lead to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, obesity and depression and can contribute to motor vehicle crashes and machinery related injuries.
Volunteers are needed to help quilt on the county quilt at the Extension Office on March 5-9. Lunch will be provided by different HCE units each day. Mary McClay, Shirley Hagene, and Myrene Alfeldt will fix lunch on March 8.
Lamplighters March meeting will be on March 14 at 7 pm in the Oakdale Town Hall. Mary Williams and Phyllis Porter will host the meeting.
The lesson will be on food and drug interactions. After the meeting Shirley served delicious refreshments of white and chocolate cake, strawberries, coffee and tea.
