Mission Trip Happening In September
Faith Perspectives – March 7, 2018

Some months ago, I wrote regarding an exciting movement among the churches in our area of Washington County as we formed a team to find ways that we as a whole faith community could respond to the disasters in our area of the world.
So, over the last six months, representatives from the Washington County Ministerial Alliance churches have been meeting and planning together.
After much prayer and research, we have chosen a place and a time to sponsor a community mission trip.
The place is the area south of Houston, Texas where several small towns who suffered much damage from Hurricane Harvey have been neglected and have received little aid.
The time is the second week of September.
How exciting for us to put aside the denominational labels we wear as we unite and bear the name of the one who has called us all – Christians!
I am reminded of Paul’s teaching in I Corinthians 12.12- “Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.”
While we have our differences, this one thing, our shared faith in Christ, overcomes and supersedes those differences and truly unites us as one.
As we gather people to go on this trip together, each will come with his or her own set of skills, but all of us working together will be necessary to accomplish the work that will be set before us as we work and act as the body of Christ.
We welcome anyone to join us. Be looking for upcoming announcements and ways that everyone can contribute. Please hold this endeavor in prayer as together we seek to be the hands of Christ.
