Nashville High School won the Class 1A Sparta Regional yesterday. Scholar Bowl is an IHSA activity, so they go through the state series like other activities.
The teams in the Regional were Gibault, Sparta, Carlyle, Marissa, Trico, Wesclin, and Althoff.
They played Trico, Weaclin, and Belleville Althoff. They beat Trico 610-80, Wesclin 420-270, and Althoff went in to a tie breaker. They won 370-350.
The NCHS Scholar Bowl  team will now advance to the sectional at Gallatin County (Junction) where they will face very tough competition.
If they advance, they go to the Peoria Civic Center to compete on the weekend of March 16.
