Birth-To-Five Screening Clinics And Kindergarten Screenings/Pre-Registration Scheduled In Ashley

A free screening clinic for children from birth to five years of age is being offered by the Ashley Grade School District and early intervention providers on March 27, 2018 from 1-4 pm. The clinic includes checks of infant-toddler language development, motor coordination, and social skills.
Preschool-aged children are also screened for pre-academic skills, vision, and hearing. The screenings take approximately 30 minutes, and parents are provided with immediate feedback about their children’s performance, as well as information about services for which their children may qualify.
Early intervention, speech/language therapy, Prekindergarten, Head Start, and Early Childhood special education programs are all available free of charge to eligible children. Participation in the spring screening clinics is an excellent means to enroll children in school district preschool classes and Head Start for next fall when there may be waiting lists for these programs.
Please call 618-485-6611 to schedule an appointment.
The screening clinics are a cooperative effort between local school districts, Ron Daniels, Regional Superintendent of Schools and the Kaskaskia Special Education District #801.
